John Ireland is the founder of BREATHWORK HQ, where he supports individuals and groups in reconnecting with the power of their breath through functional breathing, movement, sound, and meditation. With over a decade of experience, John offers guidance to those navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, or seeking to optimise mental and physical performance—believing the breath is our most accessible and powerful tool for transformation.
Certified in Oxygen Advantage, Apnea Survival, Breathless Expeditions, Seven Directions Breathwork, and Cold Water Immersion, John's approach blends science, somatics, and embodied awareness. He facilitates experiences that are deeply integrative—centering the nervous system, enhancing oxygen uptake, and building inner capacity for resilience, calm, and clarity.
John’s work focuses on retraining the body toward diaphragmatic nasal breathing—restoring balance between oxygen (O₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and nitric oxide (NO). These three essential gases play vital roles in regulating energy, emotional balance, and brain-body oxygen delivery. As this internal chemistry balances, the nervous system calms, and the body begins to operate from a place of ease and alignment.
Through movement practices that open the thoracic cavity, soften fascial tension, and free the intercostal muscles, John invites breath to return to its natural rhythm. He incorporates sound healing to deepen the release process—using tonal vibration and frequency to harmonise the nervous system and guide participants into deeper states of presence and rest.
Within these practices, meditation arises naturally. Breath slows, the mind settles, and awareness expands—offering a grounded path to emotional regulation and embodied connection.
Ultimately, John’s work helps people reconnect with their inner resources—to feel safe in their bodies, regulate emotions, and meet life with calm, strength, and vitality. Once we learn to trust our breath, we gain access to greater emotional wellbeing, physical performance, and an improved quality of life.
